Family Solutions, a locally owned and operated nanny placement service, was founded in 1999 by two working mothers, who united their vision of providing the best possible child care solutions for families and employers in the metropolitan Richmond area. Both mothers had the support of great nannies, who cared for their children while they pursued their careers in the competitive field of commercial bank sales. The experience they gained from the relationships with their nannies in conjunction with the skills they developed through interviews, presentations, needs assessments and solutions-based selling in their profession formed the cornerstone of their successful program in matching nannies and their families today.

Family Solutions achieves its goals by:

• Providing families with top-quality caregivers and backup care for children including those with special needs.
  
  
• Providing new mothers with temporary postpartum care.
  
  
• Providing local corporations with backup child care for their employees’ children.
  
  
• Maintaining an active involvement in Richmond nanny support groups.
  
  
• Providing the nanny profession with educational opportunities as well as educating families on the role of the professional nanny.
  

Candace Branch, Executive Director
From 1982 to the founding of Family Solutions in 1999, she was employed in the banking industry, primarily in the commercial and corporate banking fields. Candace, has been active in the Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels, and served as a chairman of her children’s school’s PTA Promotions committee and co-chair of PTA After School Enrichment. She is the mother of two active middle school children.
